How Would a Setting Sun Microsystems Affect Enterprise IT?When Microsoft made a move on Yahoo last year, it was a huge news story. The response among the enterprise IT ranks: Meh--who cares? Indeed, while the story was interesting, and would have had a huge impact on the companies themselves had the acquisition actually happened, the impact of such a merger on enterprise IT would have been negligible. You can't say the same for today's acquisition news--that IBM is reportedly in talks to buy Sun Microsystems for $6.5 billion in cash.
