ICANN Moving On with Elimination of Domain Tasting
|
ICANN has posted its initial operating plan and budget framework for Fiscal Year 2009. From the document (p.14): Current assumptions in the revenue model are: Good, just as the Board of Directors had proposed, they are moving through the budget process to eliminate the AGP, or Add-Grace Period. This will make tasting a much more expensive speculation. With the refunds being eliminated they can expect revenues to increase, so increasing the fee would have been greedy. Good thing it's staying the same. And even though they are planning to create new gTLDs, they are expecting the number of registrars to decline? Not sure of the answer on that one. |
