I'm one of many who have written about the claims of an Mac OS X worm that gains root access.

But all things considered, including some of the reaction, there never was any solid evidence that there was anything behind the claims. In other words, it could all be a joke, and there is no worm.

There is plenty of reason to believe this, but the best reason is that someone who wrote the worm on assignment for profit and who will remain anonymous has no need to preannounce it like this. If he's not going to show any of the goods, he has no credibility.

And I'm actually more inclined to believe that it's a crank than real at this point. He only did it to get a rise out of people.
