One Quarter of Top 100 Jobs Are in IT
|
Twenty-five of the top 100 jobs in the U.S. are in IT, according to rankings put out by CNNMoney and Payscale.com. These rankings look at two major factors: Excellent pay and prospects for growth. Coming in at number 1 is software architect; Closer to the bottom of the list is geographic information systems analyst at number 97. Other industries and job titles that made the list span across health care, sales, engineering, product management and financial services occupations. But there is little doubt which jobs dominate the pay and growth rankings: Technology rules. Software architect Dan Cervelli who works at Palantir Technologies in Palo Alto, CA was quoted by CNNMoney as saying "I put together apps people actually use. So for me, the greatest joy comes from seeing people use the product in a way that makes their life better or makes it easier for them to do their job." Database admin Lainey Rhodes who works at Raymond James in Florida told CNNMoney: "The job is often very challenging in a good way. I'm the type of person who likes to solve puzzles in my spare time. My role at work is very similar. I determine how important pieces of data relate to other important pieces of data, and I have to ensure flexibility and accuracy in whatever I design." Here are the job titles in IT that made the ranking list and the associated ranking number out of the Top 100:
