I Hope You Like Granny Smith

News Brief. Apple Watch is changing hands, and the new fruit will have different flavor.

As introduction, my name is Joe Wilcox, and I also am editor of Microsoft Watch. As of today, I have taken over responsibilities for Apple Watch.

My street cred is simple: Longtime Apple users call me a Microsoft lackey. Strangely, over at Microsoft Watch, many readers accuse me of Mac bias. I suppose that's one measure of success.

I've watched Apple since December 1998, when I carted an iMac out of the Rockville, Md., CompUSA (the store has since closed). Today, my main Apple machine is a MacBook Pro with 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of DDR2 memory, 160GB hard drive and 256MB GeForce 8600M GT graphics.

Changes will come to Apple Watch, starting with more frequent postings, more rumors and more analysis. Reviews will come to Apple Watch, too. The blog's tone will be much different than that of Microsoft Watch because the audiences aren't even closely the same. Some posts will be snarky, and there will be more linking to other blogs and news stories, in part to plug Apple Watch readers into the greater Mac community.

Suggestions and tips are always welcome, as are products to review. You can contact me here or follow me on Twitter.

Like Microsoft Watch, this blog will follow good journalistic practices. Meaning: Sources will be verified, especially for rumors. You won't read anything reckless here.

So, please stop in often or subscribe to the blog's feeds. The fun is just beginning.

whatever :

Hi Joe,

Good to see you take over Apple watch as well.

I enjoy your posts at MSW and look forward to reading your posts here.

May i suggest a more analysis heavy approach (same goes for MSW). I would particularly suggest that for Apple Watch as there are about a zillion trashy rumour and newsy-tidbits sites around, but i imagine your analysis articles would be truly worth reading.
